What Is Cronos?
Initially launched as Monaco Technologies GmbH in 2016 by Kris Marszalek, Rafael Melo, Gary Or, and Bobby Bao, Crypto.com Chain [whose native token is the Crypto.com Coin (CRO)] is a decentralized blockchain platform that powers the mobile payment app, Crypto.com Pay-- the feature product of Crypto.com’s trading and financial services. CRO is based on the Ethereum blockchain, making CRO an ERC-20 coin secured by the Ethash function. Since all 100 billion coins (the maximum supply) were created with Crypto.com went live, the currency is non-mineable. Because the platform is based on Ethereum, the average block time is 13-15 seconds.
