What Is Bitcoin Cash?

Bitcoin Cash, which can be used as tokens, simplified smart contracts, and private payments, is a peer-to-peer electronic cash system created by a hard fork from the Bitcoin project in 2017. The fork, led by the Bitcoin ABC full node team, was the result of a dispute over scalability, and Bitcoin holders at the time of the fork automatically became owners of Bitcoin Cash. At the time of the split from Bitcoin, the Bitcoin Cash block size was increased from 1MB to 8MB to meet global demand, enabling Bitcoin Cash to handle significantly more transactions per second (TPS) while keeping fees extremely low. Bitcoin Cash payments are sent directly from one person to another without the need for trusted third parties or central banks. Likewise, transactions are not subject to censorship, seizure, or freezing by governments or centralized corporations.
