About Bitcoin SV

What Is Bitcoin SV?

Bitcoin SV (BSV) is the product of two hard forks in succession. After a hard fork from Bitcoin in 2017 resulted in the creation of Bitcoin Cash, a hard fork from Bitcoin Cash followed a year later, creating Bicoin SV (SV standing for Satoshi Vision). Among BSV’s main aims is scalability, and to this end it has worked to increase its block size, theoretically allowing for high throughput but also rendering propagation through the block chain difficult and raising the risk of incidental forks. Bitcoin SV is led by Craig Wright, who has made the unsubstantiated claim that he is Satoshi Nakamoto, the entity that created Bitcoin. Suspicion of fraud has led Changpeng Zhao, CEO of Binance (one of the world’s most popular cryptoexchanges), to remove BSV from the exchange. BSV can still be traded, however, on most other major exchanges. BSV, like Bitcoin, relies on a proof-of-work (PoW) mechanism. The average block time is 10 minutes, and the maximum token supply is 21 million. See below for a full selection of markets where you can trade Bitcoin SV for other cryptocurrencies, US dollars, and other fiat currencies.
