What Is Nano?

Nano, formerly RaiBlocks, is a peer-to-peer digital currency. It is a decentralized, open-source cryptocurrency based on directed acyclic graph architecture, and released under the FreeBSD License. It operates without intermediaries by utilizing a distributed ledger with a block-lattice data structure. Nano is a cryptocurrency that provides “a low-latency payment platform that requires minimal resources.” Each address on Nano has its own blockchain (a structure known as a block lattice) and users provide the computational power required to verify their own transactions, allowing transactions to be processed without fees.
